World Health day 2022

World Health Day 2022 focuses on encouraging people from different cultures across the globe to reimagine the world. Not the world in which we currently live, one where pollution, disease, and the pandemic become stronger and more fervent each and every day, but rather a world that strives to put health and well-being at the top of the list. Where clean air, water and nutrition is available to all irrespective of their background. We need to strive towards the beginnings of this eutopia, benefitting the lives of all living creatures across the world.

The World Health Organisation defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. As well as reimagining and striving towards a better world that encourages well-being for all we encourage you to focus on your mental well-being. The key to promoting your mental well-being and to leading a truly fulfilling life comes from the strength of the relationship you build with others. We have touched on this in a previous article titled ‘Wellness, Spirituality and Mindfulness’, highlighting ways in which you can develop meaningful and loving relationships.

Spiritual development is also important to consider when working on your mental wellbeing. Spiritual wellness specifically refers to your life’s purpose as well as your morals, values and the actions you take to achieve your purpose and to live a fulfilled life. As we have already discovered, the key to leading a fulfilled life is contingent on the relationships you build with others. However, there are many different mental and spiritual elements that will help promote well-being. There is a definite connection between your beliefs and energy, and your mental well-being and therefore your overall health. Positive beliefs and energy promoted through spiritual development such as manifestation, positive affirmations, and meditating, will help improve your quality of life.

Positive affirmations such as ‘I am at peace with myself’, ‘I appreciate who I am’, and ‘my future is bright’ will help to grow your self-esteem starting from square one. Positive affirmations require consistency and structure to make lasting positive changes to your life. Positive affirmations allow you to define success in many different ways, they also align your values with your actions. By affirming who you are each day, you outline what you value, and your daily actions will follow.

Taking steps to support your spiritual development thus improving your mental well-being is imperative for your overall health. In accompaniment with building strong relationships with others, this will lead to a fulfilling life. World Health Day 2022 is all about reimagining the world we live in as a world that puts health and well-being at the top of the list, so as well as working on your own spiritual development and well-being, share your findings and your journey with your friends to help encourage them to begin their own spiritual development.
