Yes or No? Using Your Intuition for Everyday Guidance

Life presents us with endless choices - from the small daily ones to the big, soul-shaping decisions. In those moments, it’s easy to look outside ourselves for answers: advice from friends, books, or endless Google searches. But your most trustworthy guide is already within you - your inner compass, also known as intuition.

What is the inner compass?
It’s that quiet sense of knowing that whispers (sometimes shouts!) the right direction for you. Unlike fear or overthinking, intuition tends to feel calm, clear, and steady. Learning to recognise its voice helps you make decisions aligned with your true self rather than external pressures.

A simple yes/no technique
One way to begin tuning into your intuition is through your body. Sit quietly with your feet on the floor and take a few deep breaths. Pose a simple yes/no question, such as “Is this choice right for me?” Notice how your body responds. A “yes” may feel like lightness, expansion, or ease. A “no” may feel like heaviness, contraction, or discomfort. With practice, these signals become easier to trust.

Building self-trust
Following your inner compass is less about always being right and more about cultivating trust in yourself. Even when things don’t unfold as expected, listening to your intuition builds confidence in your inner wisdom. Over time, you’ll find yourself less dependent on external validation and more rooted in your spiritual path.

✨ Practice for the week: Each day, pause before a decision - even a small one like what to eat for lunch. Ask your inner compass for guidance, notice the signals, and follow them.

Final reflection: Trust grows one choice at a time. Your inner compass is always there, waiting to guide you home.
